Dr May Maung


May graduate from the University of Medicine in Yangon, she also speaks Burmese.

May travelled to Australia and commenced work at RPH, she then moved to Exmouth for 1 year working at Exmouth hospital and visiting Carnarvon hospital.

May settled in Geraldton with her family commencing work at Geraldton regional hospital predominantly in Paediatrics , obstetrics and Medicine for four years until 2015 when she joined Batavia health as a GP registrar through the WAGPET training scheme and has almost completed her GPT 3 Term and is awaiting her Fellowship from RACGP.

Dr Maung is currently engaged in research with the University of Western Australia and Notre dame regarding familial hypercholesterolemia identification in general practice.

May is married to Dr Thet Wai who also works at Batavia Health; they share a 3-year-old son who keeps them very busy.
